Warzone Army Complete and Pre-Tournament Thoughts.

It is almost time, but how did we get here? If you have not had a chance to read the history of me and Warhammer check out this post. I have had a long history with the hobby and it has culminated with my first GT. I jumped on the AOS bandwagon only about 6 months ago. I think I just needed a change from 40k. I love the setting, but with 40k if you go first you are probably going to win. I think that mechanic sort of gnawed at me and I was looking for a change. TJ Collier has been the one for the last few years pushing me to go to a GT. It finally worked I signed up for Warzone, however for AOS and not 40k, “so I got it half right TJ”. I have always enjoyed tournament play, I mostly play at my local store Montags, however I will occasionally venture out and play at other stores. Competitive play gives me a goal and focuses my painting. I have probably painted more models in preparation for a tournament than any other reason. So I enjoy the focus that a tournament brings to my hobby.

Off topic – on topic. The Texas Masters is also in full swing. I am  focused on making the cut. I am a little late to the game, I missed a lot of tournaments because of “life”, so now I am trying to play catch up. We will see how this pans out. At the time of writing I am 10th in Houston and 31st overall, I need to be top 20 overall or top 3 from Houston to make it.  It is not an impossible feat for me to get an invite, but there are several GTs coming up so we will see how it all shakes out. I have set making the Masters as a goal and now I will work toward it.

I will be heading to the Energy Corridor Friday afternoon. I plan on getting all checked in and getting a bite of food once the tables are open I hope to get a pick up game. Last minute practice never hurt right? So if you see me hit me up!

What am I hoping for? Just a good showing, I do not think I will win every game. I just want to be competitive and be in the running for best overall when it is said and done. I feel I have a shot to accumulate lots of points, but the dice will decide much. I am also looking forward to building relationship and becoming a bigger part of the Wargaming community in Houston.

When I started this project about 3 months ago, I was convinced that I would have enough time to complete all my models. I mean I only had like 90 something to paint and a big display board. I think I was a little overconfident, however it did all get done. I cut a few corners and would like a do over on a couple of things. In the end very happy with how it all turned out.
