The Joe of the Week is Barbecue v1. I had so much trouble getting a complete unbroken figure. I had Barbecue as a kid and other than the silver being scuffed up he was in relatively good shape. However I wanted one in pristine condition. My second Barbecue came in a large lot that I bought from a friend. He was in better shape than mine but still not great. This one did come with his ax, backpack, and the nozzle gun were included. I did not realize that the back little peg on the back of the gun was broken, so I started looking for a new gun. Most of the prices on Ebay were $8 plus and at that point its like just get a new figure complete for $15. So I was at the local toy shop and they had a sale going. I found a super nice Barbecue and purchased it for about $12. In my hurry, “I had my 3 year old with me” I did not double check the nozzle gun. And sure enough I get home and another broken gun. At this point I decided that I will just look for one on Ebay. I was amazed that I found one for about $5, so I jumped on the deal quick. It came in the mail a few days later and I started putting him together and getting him ready for a photo. I noticed that the nozzle did not have the slot to attach to his leg! So I did a little looking and figured out that this was the gun to the 25th anniversary figure. It did not have the slot and the color was slightly different! So I pulled up the Ebay listing and sure enough in the description it stated that it was for that version. So here I am having spent way more than I ever anticipated on Barbecue and he still not complete. Then I started looking at more listing online for complete figures. The biggest issue was finding good pictures of his accessories, I was going to make sure that this time It was the correct unbroken nozzle. After a few weeks of looking I was still unable to get anything I was 100% sure was correct. So once again I headed to the local shop. On this day they were having another Joe sale and I was able to get a complete Barbecue with all his unbroken accessories for under $10. So much trouble for that dang gun.
Ascetically Barbecue was always one of my favorite figures growing up. The red and dark grey were a nice compliment to each other. His head is one of my favorite from any figure in any year. It has that awesome Gothic armor look.
